Today some of us will leave Scotty's at 10:00 and drive into the Adirondack High Peaks where we will stop in Lake Placid for lunch. Right now it is very cloudy and 54 degrees. If the rain holds off it should be a nice drive.

Thursday Update
When we left at 10:30 in the morning Thursday it was sunny but crisp...and we had the top down! Cheri had on gloves and a stocking cap as we headed north on 9N. We continued on until we made our way to Crown Point, NY where we crossed Lake Champlain on the Champlain Bridge into Vermont! It warmed up a bit and we motored through the country without a hitch. The leaves are not at their peak Fall colors but they changed more and more as we headed north into farm country. Once we made our way through Middlebury College into downtown Middlebury it was lunchtime. Leader Paul had made reservations at The Lobby, a nice restaurant in a very old building right on Otter Creek.
After we ate we continued our long loop back to Lake George. Along the way we stopped at an Apple Orchard/Cider Mill and sampled some very adult beverages! The folks there were great and tolerated an influx of Miniacs with smiles!
We arrived back at the hotel at 5:30 and Cheri and I headed into Lake George for dinner. The restaurant we went to first is closed for the season...bummer...we heard they had good lobster rolls. We walked back and ate at The Lake George Beach Club and while it was windy and chilly the view across the Lake was beautiful!!
Back at Scotty's we hung out with a large group of new friend and finally called it a night around 11:00.

Thursday With Ethan Allen
Today we will leave Lake George and cross into Vermont and rally through the Green Mountains. I know our group leader, Paul, has made lunch reservations for our group but I'm not sure where! Check back later for more!!!
Wednesday - UPDATE
Our Lake George Loop run was a lot of fun! We left Scotty's Lakeside Resort around noon and headed north on NY 9N. There were only 7 cars on this run because we were the only ones who arrived in town early...but it was a nice group for the places we drove through. We went though a number of small towns, saw beautiful homes, and nice views of the lake and rolling hills. We stopped for lunch in Ticonderoga and then continued around the lake and back to Scotty's. We got back around 4:00 got cleaned up and left for dinner. Cheri and I went to the Adirondack Brewery and quite by accident met up with 6 other Miniacs who had the same idea. After dinner we returned to Scotty's where a number of us stood on the lake shore and visited until 10:00 or so.
| It was Cheri's turn to wear the Mini Wave hand. |

Wednesday Sept 28
Today we will go on a short drive with just a few other early birds. Seems we will just be doing a loop around Lake George with a lunch stop thrown in. It will be a good chance to meet a couple of people and get a feel for the area.

Tuesday Sept 27, 2016
This morning we left sunny Lyndhurst at about 8:00am. We headed North on Brainard Rd and stopped to fill up our gas tank at the BP station on the corner of Rt 6 and Bishop Rd....we had some BP credits so the fill up only cost 17 bucks! Then, as is our roadtrip tradition, we stopped at McDonalds for sausage McMuffins with cheese...NO EGGS!!! Then onto I90 East to start the trip!!
Traffic was light and we made it to the Angola Service Center in NY for our first potty break!
Back in the car we climbed and continued East on the NY Thruway! Around 12:30 we decided to stop for lunch. I looked on Yelp and found a little place in Canandaigua, NY called the Bee Hive Brew Pub (20 Pleasant St). We each had a beer and split one monster turkey & cranberry sandwich. Everything on the menu had a bee reference. My beer was a Bee Hoppy and the sandwich was the Bee-Thank-Full....Mmm mmm mmm!!!
We checked into Scotty's Lakeside Resort; unloaded the car; freshened up, and headed out for dinner. Lake George is a cool resort town are but it is the off season so some restaurants are only open on the weekend. I found a cool place called the Dockside about 8 miles down the road on another little lake. (Glen Lake) We are glad we made the short trip. It was a nice place with a heated patio and our dinnerswere quite good!
Now we have returned to Scotty's and we'll call it a night so we will be ready for our first Mini Rally trip in the morning!

After lunch we took Rt 20 to Geneva NY and returned to the Thruway there. We exited in Amsterdam NY and started North toward the Adirondacks and Lake George...we made a stop for gas...and a potty break...and arrived in Lake George at about 5:30....not a bad trip at all!!
